London Broncos hooker James Cunningham could face a ban of eight matches after being billed over a abuse allegation.
Hull KR prop Rob Mulhern created the allegation on behalf of his own team-mate Mose Masoe throughout his side’s 20-16 Super League defeat by the Broncos 10 days ago and the episode has been put on record.
The Rugby Football League started an investigation and have now referred the issue to a disciplinary tribunal. Cunningham is very likely to face a hearing.
Meanwhile, Castleford, Wigan and Warrington could be without key players to its Super League play-offs that start this week.
Wigan prop forward Oliver Partington, who has started the last eight matches of his club, has been given a one-match punishment notice for centre Cheyse Blair along with his arm during his league triumph over Castleford Thursday.
The player will face a hearing Tuesday with the possibility of him lost Friday’s qualifying semi-final against Salford at the DW Stadium if the Warriors competition the tier A offence.
Partington was given a caution for“contrary behavior“ after he was spotted rubbing the mind of a bandaged Paul McShane during Thursday’s match.
Castleford second rower Jesse Sene-Lafao, who had been sent off with his knees in that game, has been given a two-match punishment watch to get a regular C offence.
The suspension would rule the participant from the Tigers‘ elimination play-off tie at Warrington on Thursday but the team are contemplating fighting the fee.
„We’ll have a conversation about what we’re likely to perform but obviously it is a bit of a setback for us whether he is going to overlook the game,“ explained Castleford coach Daryl Powell. Jesse has been playing fairly well for us.“
Castleford will have England forward Adam Milner back after missing the Wigan game through disease but they have injury doubts over Mike McMeeken (dead leg) and Nathan Massey (shoulder).
Former England scrum-half Matty Smith, who is to Warrington out of Catalans Dragons, is in danger of missing Thursday’s game after being handed a one-match penalty watch for a dangerous speech.
Elsewhere, Hull KR Matt Parcell has been provided a penalty notice for a dangerous tackle on Lee Mossop at Salford through his side’s defeat and Leeds winger Luke Briscoe obtained a game through the win over Warrington for usage of his knees.
